Branding workwear with a logo - a guide
Corporate clothing is the cheapest advertising a company can buy — you pay once and your logo is visible every workday, for years. It's also something that's easy to mess up if ordered blindly.
This is the order we go through with each client.
Step 1: Choose the garment according to the job
The most common mistake is to start from the price, not the usage. A cheap 140 g/m² T-shirt is great for giving out at an event, but after three months in storage it looks bad - and your logo with it.
| For what? | What to take |
|---|---|
| Production, warehouse | A thick 180–200 g/m² T-shirt or polo shirt |
| Service, installation | Polo or work shirt and softshell jacket |
| Trade, office | Pique polo shirt, slim fit |
| Restaurant, hotel | Polo or shirt that can withstand washing at 60°C |
| Construction, roads | Hi-Vis clothing and reinforced jacket |
| Event, promotion | Light t-shirt or cotton bag |
Also think about the layers. A team that works both indoors and outdoors is best dressed in three pieces: a t-shirt, a fleece or sweatshirt, and a jacket on top. The logo is on top of all three — so it can be seen in all weathers.
Step 2: Choose the branding method
In one sentence: embroidery for a small logo on a garment that will be worn for a long time; DTF printing for multi-color or large images and for small quantities.
The detailed comparison — price, durability, and limitations — is in Embroidery or DTF printing.
Step 3: Prepare the logo
This is where the most time is wasted. It is best vector file: SVG, AI, EPS or PDF. These files scale without blurring.
If you only have a JPG or PNG, it's not the end of the world. Send the largest version you have. We can usually redraw it as a vector.
There are two limitations for embroidery that are worth knowing:
- Text under about 4 mm height blends in. If your logo contains a slogan in small letters, we usually remove it or enlarge it.
- The subtle transitions between colors are not transferred with thread. They turn into solid colors.
Digitization for embroidery is done once. The same logo is then used for all subsequent orders, without a repeat fee.
Step 4: Decide where the logo should go
The most common locations and their usual sizes:
| Place | Size | For what? |
|---|---|---|
| Left breast | 7–10 cm | The classic. Suitable for every outfit |
| Back - entire area | 25–30 cm | Company name visible from afar |
| Back — under the collar | 10–15 cm | Discreet option |
| Sleeve | 5–8 cm | Second logo or job title |
| Hat — forehead | 5–7 cm | Embroidery only |
Tip: If employees are standing behind a counter or machine, the logo on the chest is often not visible. Then the back works better.
Step 5: Dimensions — get a sample
The most expensive mistake in corporate clothing is ordering 40 pieces and it turns out that the model is a small fit. Branded clothes are not returnable.
Therefore we recommend: order one piece of each of the two medium sizes Before the main order, give them to two of the team to try on and only then collect the sizes.
Every one of our products has size chart in the description — with actual centimeters for width and height, not just letters. Compare them to a garment that already fits you well.
Also keep in mind that women's cuts are separate models, not scaled-down ones male. For a mixed team, take both.
Step 6: Quantities and deadlines
We don't have a minimum quantity. We also produce one piece.
Order earlier than you think you need. Seasonal clothes—jackets in October, T-shirts in May—run out of stock in some colors and sizes.
Four mistakes that cost money
- Too big logo on the chest. Above 12 cm it looks amateurish. A discreet logo reads more expensive.
- A light logo on a light garment. Gray on white almost disappears from two meters. Ask us for a different color option.
- One size fits all. It's cheaper, but half the team doesn't wear it.
- Print on a garment that is washed at 60°C every day. That's where the embroidery comes in.
How to get started
Send us the logo, tell us what work your team does and how many people you have. We will suggest models and a method, and give you a price for the garment and branding separately.
